TV Times: Should Some of the 500 Mile NASCAR Races Be Shortened?

Lou Modestino's TV TimesWhile NASCAR has taken steps to improve its Sprint Cup events, there are a number of issues that paying customers still are unhappy with, such as the l-e-n-g-t-h of the 500 mile events.  Most feel that they are way too long.  Many end up as an economy run.  Fans do not consider them to be real racing.

For them to continue on with that dance partner routine surely would see fans continue getting turned off and watching something else on the old tube.

TV Times: NASCAR TV Ratings Up In ’11, But Does That Mean More Attendance in ’12?

Lou Modestino's TV TimesNASCAR TV ratings were up overall by the end of the season when things wound up at Homestead.

That’s a good sign.

Yet when will attendance figures at various tracks pick up, particularly at the 1-1/2 mile cookie-cutter 150,000 seat venues?
